Bad Company destroys Good Character. It is like The Prodigal Son except that Nick realized the joy he saw in his real friends from before meeting Rex and the fear of trouble after his friend, Rex began drawing him away from his character. What really brought in the million dollar rescue was the former bully, Derrik, who pulled him aside and discouraged his new look and encouraged him to be the person that he was because that is what made him the person he was. Derrik pretty much restored Nick.
